How We Review and Rank Stores
To protect buyers and sellers in the Malaysian designer handbag market, we apply a strict, multi-dimensional scoring methodology to every business listed. Learn about our criteria, weightings, and commercial relationships.

With counterfeit goods becoming increasingly sophisticated, a store's intake standards, authentication policies, and overall track record determine whether it is a safe destination for consumers. Below, we outline exactly how we score and rank businesses.
Commercial Relationship Disclosure: While we operate with full editorial control over our review criteria and audit scoring, we transparently disclose that we maintain commercial relationships with some featured businesses, including Oh My Lux. However, Oh My Lux is subjected to the exact same standardized grading metrics as every other store on this site, and we do not accept payment to artificially elevate any store's ranking positions.
Our Scoring Pillars and Weighting
We grade each store on a 100-point scale across four core areas. These scores are compiled through physical showroom audits, mystery shopper visits, customer feedback tracking, and documented verification policy analysis.
Authenticity Policy 35% Weight
The single most important criterion. We evaluate the store's verification tools (e.g., Entrupy AI systems), in-house expert credentials, and the legal binding of their authenticity guarantee. Stores offering instant, unconditional money-back refunds for authentication failures score highest.
Inventory Depth & Curation 25% Weight
We analyze the volume, variety, and rotation of high-demand legacy brands (Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci) in their stock. We also reward stores that curate rare runway and vintage archive pieces that are difficult to locate elsewhere.
Buyer & Seller Experience 20% Weight
Includes physical showroom cleanliness and security, online responsiveness, pricing transparency, consignment fee structures (typically between 15% and 30% in Malaysia), and seller payout turnaround speeds.
Track Record & Reputation 20% Weight
We track the business's years active in the Malaysian luxury space, the volume and consistency of public customer reviews, and their industry participation or local registration status.
Audit Frequency and Process
Our editorial team performs audits twice a year to ensure our data remains current. Our audit process includes:
- Secret Shopper Checks: We visit showrooms anonymously to experience the customer service, checkout speed, and condition grading accuracy firsthand.
- Seller Consignment Audits: We submit test bags to analyze the speed, professionalism, and fairness of initial quotes and physical verification.
- Public Review Synthesis: We collect and verify reviews from Google Maps, Facebook, and local forums to flag any sudden drop in service quality or unresolved customer disputes.
